Scott Barnett for School Board

Ballot Statement

A PARENT’S PROMISE

Children First. I have two daughters attending San Diego Unified Schools, have served as PTA President, auditor, soccer coach and a UCSD instructor. I promise I will always put our children’s growth, development, and learning first. They are our future.

TIME FOR CHANGE

Stronger Voice For Parents. Parents of neighborhood schools need a stronger say in how our schools are run.

Better Prepare Our Students. As a former UCSD instructor and current college lecturer, I know how important it is to prepare our children for college and 21st century jobs.

Safeguard Taxpayer Dollars. I will take a parent’s approach to demanding first-class schools and a taxpayer advocate’s approach to safeguarding school funds.

FISCAL EXPERIENCE FOR TOUGH ECONOMIC TIMES

Former Executive Director, San Diego County Taxpayers Association.
Past Chair, San Diego Unified's $1.5 Billion Bond Construction Oversight Committee.
Current President, San Diego Taxpayers Advocate.

Budget Accountability. Tax dollars are scarce. I will make sure our taxes go to support students, not administrative overhead and waste.

Endorsed by:

Senator Christine Kehoe
Martin Garrick (Assembly Republican Leader)
